About The DFC
The DFC is a non-profit collaborative center comprised of university faculty and staff. DFC personnel include experts in computer forensics, computer science, computer networks, computer and network security, and data recovery.
| Victor Fay-Wolfe |
| Director |
| Victor Fay-Wolfe is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Rhode Island,
where he has been for 16 years. He has a PhD and MS in Computer Science from the University
of Pennsylvania and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. Dr. Fay-Wolfe founded
URI's Digital Forensics Program including the Digital Forensics Center, the undergraduate and
graduate degrees in Digital Forensics, and the Digital Forensics Research Lab. He is principal
investigator on two of the National Institute of Justice's largest research awards for developing
new technology to combat electronic crime. Dr. Fay-Wolfe has over 100 published articles and books
in the field of Computer Science and has received over 10 million dollars in research funding
from agencies such as the National Institute of Justice, The National Science Foundation, The
Department of Homeland Security, The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Office
of Naval Research, The Airforce Research Lab, and from several high-tech companies. He teaches
courses in Digital Forensics, Computing Concepts, and in Distributed and Networked Systems.

| Kristen McCooey has a BS in Computer Science, a minor in Digital Forensics, and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics.
Ms. McCooey has completed extensive training fom Access Data including Access Data Bootcamp, Windows Forensics XP, Windows Forensics Vista, Windows Forensics Registry,
and Internet Forensics. Ms. McCooey has also completed X-Ways Software's Computer Forensics Training, X-Ways Software's File Systems course, and the University of Rhode
Island's Network Forensics Training course. She has worked in the DFC for two years and has interned with the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

| Kevin Bryan has a BS in Computer Science, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Computer Science. Mr Bryan is System Administrator and Security Architect for URI Computer Science Department. He leads the DFC research project on digital steganography detection and password cracking.

| Brittnee Morgan |

| Brittnee Morgan has a BA in Computer Science, a minor in Digital Forensics, and is currently pursuing her Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics. Ms. Morgan has completed X-Ways Forensics and Files Systems courses provided by X-Ways, as well as a Network Forensics course provided by URI. She has worked in the DFC for one year and has interned with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

As part of the university, the DFC has access to experts in many areas including computer graphics, images and photography, video, digital hardware, psychology, chemistry, law, acoustics, as well as other scientific areas.
